Members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Afghanistan, faculty and staff from the American University of Afghanistan, colleagues and constituents from the US Embassy, Afghan ministries, and supporters from the civil society community celebrated a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner in Kabul.
“Thanksgiving in Kabul is one of the most heartwarming occasions,” said Elspeth Smith, Executive Director of the AmCham/AF. “We have so much to celebrate, and everyone here is a pioneer and an ambassador of good will.”
Michael and Elspeth Smith have lived and worked in Kabul for almost 5 years. Michael Smith is the President of the American University of Afghanistan. “Our relationship with the AmCham/Af is extremely important,” Dr. Smith said. “Our business degree programs are vital, and we value the opportunity to sit with business leaders to enjoy a meal and genuine camaraderie.”
