Dirk Hanekom is a partner at Rosenstock Legal Services, a private sector legal advisory company, established in Kabul in 2008, committed to the development of the rule of law as well as public and private sector capacity in Afghanistan. Dirk leads RLS’s licensing and compliance practice, and advises private and institutional clients in a variety of general commercial and Afghan-specific matters, including contracts, entity formation, taxation, and various interactions with Afghan government departments.
Prior to joining RLS in early 2010, Dirk lectured in law at the University of Pretoria, and practiced at Delport, Ward & Pienaar in Cape Town, where he specialized in property rights and transactions involving the transfer of interests in land. Dirk also has experience working as a business consultant, where he specialised in business model and product innovation, with a focus on digital services in Africa.
Dirk holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Pretoria Faculty of Law and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cape Town, Graduate School of Business. He is admitted as an Attorney and Conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa.
