James (Jim) Sagen is the Vice President, Afghanistan Operations for DynCorp International and in this capacity serves as the senior corporate executive in-country.
He provides oversight and support to DynCorp’s six in-country programs, and he is the senior management interface between the Government of Afghanistan, the United States Government, and senior corporate leadership. Mr. Sagen has 35 plus years of leadership and management experience in operational, logistics and specialized organizations. He has extensive experience in organizational transformation, and strategic level planning. He has 12 years of overseas service in Germany, Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan.
Jim has previously served on the AMCHAM Board of Directors and was the Vice-Chairman 2015-2016. He also served as the Chairman of the Kabul Embassy Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) 2015-2016.
Mr. Sagen has a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Washington in Seattle, A Masters in Business from Embry-Riddle University, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.
Mr. Sagen is a retired Colonel in the U.S. Army where his last assignment was a Chief of International Agreements Branch in ISAF Headquarters, Kabul Afghanistan. He has served with DynCorp International since his retirement in 2014.
