Mr. Muenzberg’s international business experience includes economic development and policy work in Afghanistan, Washington D.C. and Iraq for the Department of State and Department of Commerce. His private industry experience spans across financial services, operations, promotion and channel development.
Mr. Muenzberg is also the Executive Director, for the American Chamber of Commerce-Afghanistan. In this role, he has helped develop private business for members of the Chamber and pursued policy initiatives which sought to improve the business environment in Afghanistan. Previously, as Deputy Commercial Attaché for the U.S. Department of Commerce stationed at U.S. Embassy Kabul for 36 months, Muenzberg worked directly with Afghan corporations, diaspora and the international business community at large to promote opportunities and develop U.S. private sector participation in Afghanistan’s emerging economy. He cultivated relationships between Afghan and U.S. companies and promoted trade throughout the region, holding matchmaking events which highlighted sector specific opportunities.
Prior to his work in Afghanistan, Mr. Muenzberg was engaged as a U.S. Department of State Trade Advisor in Iraq for two years followed by a policy position in Washington D.C. as the Transition and Stabilization Advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Iraq, focusing on the U.S. transition from military to civilian control in 2011/12 as well as the normalization of the bilateral relationship with Iraq.
In private business Mr. Muenzberg held the position of Vice President for Finance and Operations in a Commercial Security integration company which he and his colleagues took public and expanded into the international non-lethal weapons sector. Muenzberg was responsible for finance and operations of the public company as well as all aspects of international trade including manufacturing agreements, new foreign market analysis, and intellectual property rights.
Mr. Muenzberg is a graduate of Metropolitan State University in Denver Colorado with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics, he also holds a Masters of Business Administration in International Business from Regis University in Denver Colorado.
