Joe Moeder* is presently serving as the Country Manager (Afghanistan) for ManTech International. He has been a corporate leader for 15 years for this $3 billion US corporation with a focus on technology and defense. His current responsibilities include directly supporting contracts for the US Department of State and the US Department of Defense in Afghanistan by interfacing with senior leadership at the US Embassy and the Coalition headquarters. Since 2010, Joe has served as the sole corporate executive in Afghanistan with an office in Kabul and, since 2005 when he joined ManTech, he has worked in Europe from his home base in Belgium.
Prior to joining ManTech, Joe was a key staff officer for the Supreme Allied Commander Europe, serving as the SACEUR’s Special Projects Officer. A retired US Marine Corps officer, the majority of his positions during his career were on the personal and special staffs of General Officers.
Since 2012, Joe has served as the Vice Chairman of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) Afghanistan, a public-private sector collaboration focused on the security concerns in the country and where his position plays a key role for the US Ambassador and Embassy Security Officer. OSAC Afghanistan presently has a membership of 130+ companies and over 300 individual members. Joe also serves as a Board member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kabul and recently was the northern European representative for the US Naval Academy. Additionally, he has the flexibility to work as a private consultant on international special projects.
Joe holds Bachelor and Masters degrees in Business Administration and Management.
